History

The low tide marsh stink. The flush of black wings against gray sky. A north wind stinging your eyes: For the Oldsquaw Boys, a winter spent on Long Island is lost without these elements. The season, at 60 days, flies by like an ejected shell casing. Born of this drive, the Oldsquaw Boys are here to bring you the most passionate and worthwhile hunt in the area. With years of collective knowledge, mistakes, and successes, we will synthesize the best hunt possible. We know most every nook, every boulder behind which to hide, and every leeward point in the area.

Of all the types of hunting, there is a reason why such lore and romanticism surrounds waterfowl. Elemental. Punishing. Fast. Rewarding. That is why we love it.

Perry Mortimer

Perry grew up hunting with his uncle on the midcoast of Maine. Since then he has hunted all over the east coast, from North Country grouse and woodcock, to east end geese, to back marsh mallards. Perry got serious about big-water hunting in 2014 when the team bought the first of three boats, a 15’ Boston whaler. Perry is an extraordinary strategist, handyman, and a thoughtful scattergunner. He brings pragmatism to the team, and loves the outdoors.
